10./11.8.2023 – Ticino is one of many beautiful places in the world. Why? What else is there to add to the Mediterranean climate coupled with alpine mountains (the Alpine ridge), numerous lakes and valleys, delicious dishes, and the typical Ticino scent?

It was a great hiking trail from Brissago at the Lago Maggiore uphill to Gridone and then downhill to Palagnedra in the Centovalli Valley (Cento per cento Centovalli ;-)). Just these words must trigger a joyful emotion. The view from Gridone over the Alps, including the Monte Rosa massif, the Lago Maggiore, and the neighboring Val Grande is breathtaking.

If you have time, take a dip in one of the nearby rivers like Maggia or Melezza, or the Lago Maggiore!

Ticino, ti amo!

03.08.2023 – What a wonderful trail this was, one of the most beautiful I’ve ever done.

There is not much to put into words; maybe: Actions speak louder than words. That’s how it was this time in Uri, too.
My tour started in Isleten, on the Lake of Uri, up towards and over Schartihöreli, then down to Hinter Wang and Neiberg in the Kleintal valley, and then over Musenalp all uphill to Uri Rotstock (2’928 asl). What happened up there was indescribable. A weather and nature spectacle, as it happens only outdoors in nature. Behind me was the Rot Gitschen, whose peak peaked out of the clouds; in front of me was the pyramid in red rock, the Uri Rotstock. After the ascent followed the descent via Biwaldalp to St. Jakob in the Grosstal valley.
The tour is about 3’000m uphill and 2’500m downhill.
From this experience you draw memories for days, weeks, months, if not years…

I will be back soon! Thank you, Isenthal, and thank you, Uri!

What is life without a good night’s sleep?

We spend so much time sleeping, more than one-third, more than anything else. To be thankful for a good night is not self-evident and yet so essential, one of the most important activities of all. Therefore, if you try to grow, try to sleep better. This can make a big difference in your life – maybe the most significant!

Here are some tips:

  • Exposure to bright light during the day and dimming of blue light before going to bed;
  • No caffeine in the evening and only a little alcohol consume;
  • Consistency with regard to bedtime and weak-up time;
  • Not too many naps during the day;
  • High quality sleeping environment, including the bed itself;
  • Exercise regularly (including sexual activities) during the day, especially outside in nature.

I wish you quality sleep because nothing is like a good night’s exercise in the form of restful sleep.

What a life experience it was!

The Scottish landscape is very diverse. The weather definitively makes it spicy.

If you get the opportunity to hike the West Highland Way, take action! It’s a 154 km trek, which brings you to some exciting places, and at the end you have the chance to go uphill for Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. For some inspiration, check out my YouTube channel under playlists Scotland 2023.

I will soon post some pictures and updates about the trip. In the meantime, stay curious!

Why am I in tune with and attuned to the word ALIVENESS?

Maybe because I can best describe and express my profound and most vibrant feelings in one word, one life, ALIVE-ness.

What more do we have than the one precious life we live? Did we come from infinity and will continue on into eternity, and between the two, we are alive? Ok, there is the sleep state, when we are in another frequency, kind of an “alerted death state”.

ALIVENESS fills me with positive emotions – vibrancy, energy, joy. It’s a complex feeling that includes both pure joy and a sense of longing.

Simply acknowledging and being thankful for this one life we’ve been given means so much. Just give yourself a smile each morning and/or evening and say “thank you” to live another day. The power to feel alive is always within us, it’s innate.

Physical pain, defined as a highly unpleasant physical sensation caused by illness or injury, often hurts. Sometimes, certain physical pain sensations are alleviated when triggered by pressure and relieved upon release. This can be beneficial for some individuals. If the feeling improves and the pain does not worsen over time, why not consider practices like trigger point therapy? The distinction between what is helpful and what is excessive can be subtle. However, it’s worth trying different options to achieve positive results.

As a former passionate track and field athlete, I often experienced Achilles tendon pain that was somewhat chronic. Along with exercises for the calf and soleus muscles, trigger point therapy proved helpful. It was such a relieving feeling when the pressure was released. Maybe you have other good examples where pain therapy became somewhat exciting, at least directly after the treatment.

If you don’t try, you don’t experience it! Experience keeps you growing!

One of my best friends recently asked me what body weight is right for me.

My answer was: I believe that our body weight plays a crucial role in maintaining a sense of balance. It serves as the equilibrium force for our “inner” space, as opposed to the sense of balance we rely on for the “outer” space. I know pretty well when I have 1 kg too much or 1 kg too little body weight without resorting to a weighing scale.
It is a feeling that emanates from within. Maintaining or regulating my body weight has helped me adopt a lifestyle and dietary habits that are more attuned to my instincts rather than strict rules. I firmly believe that the frequency of one’s meals is less important than the quality and nature of the food eaten. It is often quality rather than quantity.

You are what you eat AND digest.

The heart-filling feeling during a morning run in the forest, the full feeling of your breath.

The complete immersion in nature.

The more you feel your pulse, the pulse of life, the calmer you become.

Priceless

Grateful!

When was the last time you took a closer look at your body? Have you felt, seen, or heard your pulse in various parts of your body?
When was the last time you were genuinely present and fully aware of yourself?
When was the last time you were outside without headphones and fully surrendered to nature?

From my point of view, it doesn’t matter if we are lying, sitting, walking, running, or in any other position or movement; the important thing is that we feel comfortable in it and fully concentrate on ourselves and our surroundings and inspire ourselves in the process.

Trust your intuition!

When was the last time you thought about your fingers? And your toes? It’s easy to overlook these important body parts, but they play such a crucial role in our daily lives. When was the last time you showed them some appreciation?

It’s amazing how easily we take our ability to use our fingers and toes for granted without even thinking about it. Our fingers and toes run virtually automatically all day and night. Fascinating how quickly and artfully we can handle our hands and feet as if they had a memory of their own. The fingers are very nimble in humans, and this is due to decades of training in writing and playing. The toes are often a little forgotten, although they would probably be just as skillful if we used them so consciously and unconsciously for artistic things every day.

Let’s give our twenty artists a little more applause and gratitude. They are more than worth it!
