2.10.2023 – This is a one-day hike that has a lot to reveal. The Gotthard massif is home to the highest triple continental divide in Europe, 3’025m asl. At this point, precipitation separates into three major rivers: the Rhine, the Rhone and the Po.

This was my trail: Villa Bedretto (Val Bedretto) – Passo di CavannaRonggergrat Hüenderstock Witenwasserenstock – Rotondohütte SAC – Witenwasseren – Realp

It was a fabulous hike – 1 day hike felt like 1 week holiday. Thank you so so much!

30.9.2023 – Via Ferrata mixed with hiking. The atmoshpere was brilliant. Sulzfluh is one of the beautiful corners of Switzerland, on the border with Austria. These karrenfelds are amazing!

From Partnun to Partnun lake and then up to Sulzfluh and then via Tilisunahütte ÖAV back to Partnun

24-25.9.2023 – Crossing the cantons of Uri, Ticino and Grisons was an awe-inspiring adventure. Nothing compares with this tough and rough environment. So many beautiful pristine Alpine lakes and you feel you standing at the source of something great. The Gotthard Massif is a living source. You are at the source of four rivers: the Rhine, Reuss, Ticino and Rhone. Here history was and is made.

When you cross the canton of Ticino from Uri, you smell the Southern scent. The four cantons fit together like a puzzle. My overwhelming route was:

1st day: Realp – Gatscholalücke/Passo d’Orsirora – Laghi d’Orsirora – Passo del San Gottardo – Lago dell Sella – Giübin Vermigelhütte

2nd day: Vermigelhütte Pass MaighelsPasso BornengoValletta del Mottone – Cappanna Cadlimo CAS – Lago Scuro – Lago di Tom – Lago Ritom – Piora

One of my most beautiful 2-day hikes ever! Thank you Uri, Ticino and Graubünden!

17.9.2023 – URI – Another hike – another adventure – another stunning day. This time between Wassen (who does not know the famous “Chileli of Wassen”?) and Göschenen (the gateway to the Gotthard massif!).

I have chosen the following route:

Wassen – Chli See – Gross SeeLang See – Rohrplatten – Bandlücke Salbiten – Salbithütte SAC – Höhenberg – Salbithütte SAC – Göschenen.

It is a trek that offers a lot: High mountains with glaciers, deep valleys, many Alpine lakes, Swiss mountain huts, rough stones, and the Gotthard myth. I love it so much. Although stony and rough, the view was smooth thanks to the South-side outlook towards Göschenertal and Unteralp.

Uri

Uri is wild, Uri is a living dream!

7.-8.9.2023 – This was another two-day hike, one of the most inspiring ever. I was in a complete dream-like state from the beginning till the end. Such beauty I have seldom so deeply felt. Words cannot adequately convey the depth of emotions I experienced on this hike. I was filled with overwhelming feelings of happiness and gratitude. Every moment seemed to bring a new highlight, making it feel like a two-week vacation rather than just a two-day hike. I feel incredibly blessed to have had this experience. I’m so so blessed! – Thank you!

And this was the treck:

1st day: From Isenthal Post along the Chlital up to Gietisflue and over Rinderstöckli up to Gitschen (~ 2500m asl) – One of my favourite places! Further down to Musenalp, up to Sassigrat, down to Biwaldalp and Bösenboden, then up again to Hinter Alp, via Engelberger Egg and over Rot Grätli to Rugghubel Hut – my sleeping place.

2nd day: From Rugghubel Hut up to Engelberger Rotstock ~2800m asl (cloudy), via Engelberger Lücke further to Wissigstock ~2900m asl, then again to Engelberger Rotstock (sunny), then over Rot Grätli to Bannalp, around Walenstöcke respectively along the Walenpfad to Brunnihütte, and finally down to Engelberg.

Thank you Uri, thank you Obwalden, thank you Nidwalden – it was a heartopening adventure!

31.8-3.9.2023 – There are two fantastic hiking routes to explore – the first is a trail along the Sigriswiler ridge that leads up to the top peak Sigriswiler Rothorn. The second route takes you through the Justistal and up along the Güggis ridge, passing by Gemmenalphorn and Burgfeldstand before reaching the Niederhorn. Both trails offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, from the serene Lake of Thun at 500m above sea level to the towering peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, soaring around 4000m above sea level.

The stark difference in altitude is awe-inspiring and will leave you with unforgettable memories. Watch out for the moon and stars!

24.08.2023 – It was perhaps one of my most enjoyable day trails I have ever done! It was truly a spectacle of impressions and emotions. First to kick off at dawn with a sunny forecast. This atmosphere, this silence and sounds of nature – impressive. Then these views and these scents, indescribable! So many different shapes and colours of Alpine lakes! From deep blue to turqoise to transparent! Between mountains and valleys, between heights and depths, in the water castle of Switzerland, of Europe – speechless!

Uri - Bottom up - top down - BeautY is in the air!

This mountainous landscape is serene and clean, yet it also left me feeling drained and at peace.

This was my route (I had around 5-6 hours): Arnisee Sunniggrätli Ruchälplistock Jakobiger Leidsee Leutschachhütte Leitschachtal Wichelpass Wichelhorn Schindlachtal – Schindlachtalhütte – Arnisee.

I have been trail running and hiking for years in Switzerland and am continually surprised by this heartwarming landscape!

08.2023 – 3 days in the Swiss National Park feels like a week-long vacation. The beauty of the pristine nature between 1’500m and 3’000m above sea level is indescribable. I was surprised how beautiful these places are. Pristine nature combined with the spectacle of the senses. The scent of the fir trees is stunning and I felt both exhausted from the hiking and trail running, and relaxed from the beautiful nature at the same time.

For inspiration, you can watch my various YouTube videos here.

I hope you feel inspired and enJOY!

15.08.2023 – WoW – One of my favourite places to hike in Switzerland. WHY? Because it’s so beautiful. I can describe it relatively short and concise:

Uri has everything what the hiking / trail running hearts need:

  • A lot of mountains and deep valleys
  • Not too overcrowded
  • Just small, fast and not to obvious cable cars
  • Amazing nature
  • Clean environment
  • A feeling of being in between the North and South (Ticino)
  • Beautiful lakes

So what will you more? I’m hiking a lot and for a long time all around Switzerland, but Uri is always worth a hike.

We hiked from Gurtnellen up to Intschialp, then down to Torli, and up again to Sunniggrathütte, and finally down to Arnisee. Just mind-blowing!

Have a great summer time!

10./11.8.2023 – Ticino is one of many beautiful places in the world. Why? What else is there to add to the Mediterranean climate coupled with alpine mountains (the Alpine ridge), numerous lakes and valleys, delicious dishes, and the typical Ticino scent?

It was a great hiking trail from Brissago at the Lago Maggiore uphill to Gridone and then downhill to Palagnedra in the Centovalli Valley (Cento per cento Centovalli ;-)). Just these words must trigger a joyful emotion. The view from Gridone over the Alps, including the Monte Rosa massif, the Lago Maggiore, and the neighboring Val Grande is breathtaking.

If you have time, take a dip in one of the nearby rivers like Maggia or Melezza, or the Lago Maggiore!

Ticino, ti amo!
