Sneak Peek of South Africa, Lesotho & eSwatini
It was my first time in the sub-Saharan region, which was special. I had already traveled to the southern hemisphere three times before but in Oceania.
The plant and animal diversity was phenomenal, and the contrast with Norway was great. The highlights for me were, besides the famous places like Cape Town with Table Mountain and Cape of Good Hope, Stellenbosch, the Garden Route with the Tsitsikamma National Park, the Drakensberg, the National Parks, especially Kruger National Park, and the Panoramic Route with the God’s Window, the Blyde River Canyon and the Mac-Mac Falls. With four safaris, the trip was also really bushy at the end. The two smaller countries were also fascinating because completely different.
The other side of the coin is the many visible environmental impacts, especially plastic waste, and the monocultures. There we have to think seriously as citizens of the earth. If you like short videos, my personal YouTube channel shows some insights: https://www.youtube.com/@lukasstahli/featured
Overall, Southern Africa was more than worth a trip – Thank you!
